I suspect that the clouds at the bottom of the picture are very high - higher than the contrails. I suspect that the clouds with the shadow are lower than the contrails.

If a similar grain of dust hit the ISS, what would the consequence be? Has the ISS ever been punctured/damaged by a meteor?

Both of these craters seem to have grooves near the northern rim. Alphonsus has several other lesser grooves too. How do we explain the grooves?

Does the asteroid seem to be spinning? Maybe 2 or 3 revs/second? Did anyone do an FFT on luminosity or something?

Beautiful. Are the blue stars closer than the swirling nebula, or are they shining through it? They should be seen if front of it. Likely the nebula is thick enough to be mostly opaque in many places, and the stars that are seen through rather thick dust should be highly reddened. I found a picture...
