There seems to be another sattelite visible on the upper right Also a weak streak on the left. And something in the right lower corner. I see them all but your additional “weak streak on the left”. First guess would be that's the direction of movement by the system. The cloud falls behind.

Halloween, Easter, Christmas and others. All pagan feasts later occupied by christian replacements. After the pagan temples got destroyed churches were build on the ruins and the new feasts were established so people would still come to the old holy place but get fed with a new religion.

So, what's really going on with those rotor shadows? The "slow" movement of the rotor is due to a nearly synchronous shutter speed. As explained a video is not a continuous stream but a rapid series of pictures. You can find lots of other examples of shutter speed combined with helicopter...

This will spark new possibilities in planetary exploration. Fascinating. One can imagine a whole swarm of probes scoutings and analyzing large areas. Or highly mobile probes not dependent on wheels.
I wonder if blimp-like probes for denser atmospheres are still in development.

At about 14 seconds, it appears that a small spot of light lifts from the surface, at the upper right side, and goes into space. It is too far from the horizon to be one of the stars that appear to rise there. Did anyone else notice that or is it just an illusion? I only see stars and artifacts. Sc...

Ok, I'll ask: why is the Nile river all lit up at night? Not just the edges, but the entire surface? I wouldn't think it's because of lights on boats. There's really not enough resolution here to make out the river surface at all. All you're seeing is the lights on the land around the river. Really...

Re: APOD: Galaxy Wars: M81 and M82 (2020 May 15)

Hm, M82 looks more like a distorted spiral galaxy than an irregular one. With such a wonderful constellation, we shouldn't actually criticize but simply perceive it in astonishment. But I think the argument is justified. It would be better to speak of collision. War is a strong word, especially when...
