This is an amazing and superb picture.
Pluto for Planet!
My first thought: Could it show the lakes on Titan? But this never seen picture had come too late from this old Saturn mission.

Re: APOD: Full Moon, Full Earth (2015 Aug 07)
This is a fake. If the earth is lit like it is then the back side of the moon would be as well because the sun is shining on both. If you compare the surface of the dark side of the moon and the landmass of North America you can see almost the same color and brightness. Bright are the clouds and a ...

Re: APOD: Apollo 11 Landing Site Panorama (2014 Dec 20)
It's an amazing picture. The craters look quite dangerous for a safe and horizontal touchdown. Lucky guys. Not luck, skill. It was a controlled descent, with Armstrong at the (semi-automatic) controls. He guided the lander away from its expected touchdown point, which was far too rocky for a safe l...

(400.000 * 9460730472580km / 7000000 km/h)
Is it correct?

Those size comparisons are impressive. When I first detected andromada nebula with my eyes I thougt I see the whole galaxy ... must have been a small part of the bright center only. I have several astro targets that I've superimposed the full moon on here: http://barryetter.zenfolio.com/p1045793279 ...

In that case, the real name is "Mount Sharp": Ah, so NASA was first by naming it - I didn't know that. BTW: On the panorama photos it looks more than a hill. 8-) Maybe this illusion is caused by 'missing snow' or steep rocks like on earth. I guess I need to stand there to be able to reali...

This picture shows an alien world - the mountains of the crater rim are fantastic, though they seem a bit over elevated in this mosaic. Black and white makes it more beautiful.
