A rare double-looped prominence occurred when active region AR2673 moved to the limn of the Sun on September 10. This was the sunspot region that produced the powerful X9.3 flare on September 6. The Witch Head Nebula (IC 2118). I have been wanting to shoot this for years but never had good weather or the right gear at the right time. I went for it this week and barely got it after being stopped by frost the first night, interrupted by clouds the second, and bothered by wind the third night....

Spiral Galaxies in Leo. M95 on the right is a barred spiral galaxy.
