Although it has been reprocessed it seems amazing to me the quality of this pic if we consider it was taken almost 50 years ago.

That's correct. We shouldn't forget that Christmas outdoor decoration also contributes to light pollution.

Magnetic fields effects are more "local", I'd rather say radiation.
