Happened to wake up just before dawn and see Mercury just above the horizon. I can now claim to have seen all classical planets! Yay.

I haven't ever really seen the Pleiades, because the sky is almost never dark where I live, but I reckon that the faint, fuzzy little cloud with an occasional twinkle a couple degrees from Aldebaran that I've been seeing (or imagining) is the real deal.

Here's my pup Kaaju (which means cashew in HIndi). I'd originally named him Cosmo. He just turned one last month. He's my baby, and he's a handful.

Great stories here! I can't recall when it was that I realised I felt strongly about astronomy. It might've been when I was in school, third grade or earlier. I live in New Delhi, India. It has been particularly cloudy around bedtime lately. I managed to see Sirius (not Vega) from in-between the clouds, but Orion had been hiding from sight. I try to wake up later to catch Orion, when the clouds have gone to bed too.

For that I shall eagerly be waiting.

A shame that it should be so. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder - sadly, not in the beholder's artificial detector.

Though it was a lot more beautiful really, and the fact that I could clearly see two planets (and glimpse the third one occasionally) at dawn was overwhelming.

Saw the moon in its full glory, and Sirius, before bed last night. Missed my alarm to watch Orion (yeah, I do that).
