Re: APOD: Galaxy Cluster Gas Creates Hole in... (2017 Apr 10)
I'm aware of the billions of year factor....I now see that the CMB is also a spectral light image(?) ...so..it appears to us NOW as it was at the beginning of the BIG BANG process?I'm pondering WHY the cluster(s) would be "punching" a hole in the CMB if the CMB came first? Or is the image ...

When observing the Galaxy clusters we are seeing them as they appeared many years ago. When observing the CMB ...does it appear to us in REAL time?

Re: APOD: Comet Hale-Bopp Over Val Parola Pass (2017 Apr 09)
In the "large comet" link..it is mentioned that that Comet Hale-Bopp is spinning..once every 12 hours. This spin..will remain the same...has remained the same ..for some time? Can or will anything effect/change this spin in the future? Do all comets "spin"?

Mentioning that the singularity was composed of infinite density helped me to start looking at it differently.

You can get a closer look at this Cluster & the surrounding area by searching NGC 7768(for example) and/or looking at the SIMBAD data here. http://spider.seds.org/ngc/ngc.cgi?7768

Big Bang
I do apologize, for once again, bringing up questions that don't specifically apply to the daily APOD.I've just recently become interested in the mysteries of our Universe. My initial questions are associated with the Big Bang(Here I go again).Chris has pointed out to me that the general(and expert) co...

Re: APOD: UGC 12591: The Fastest Rotating... (2017 Mar 07)
It is silly and irrational not to believe something for no other reason than because it conflicts with your biases. We're talking about a model well supported by evidence and ideas that have been well thought out. Unless you can objectively support an alternative, you're out of place in any science...

Re: APOD: UGC 12591: The Fastest Rotating... (2017 Mar 07)
I still cannot wrap my mind around how the Universe was created from ONE singularity. The question, for me,remains. What came BEFORE the Big Bang? The question may be meaningless, given that time itself was created by the Big Bang. Without time, what does "before" even mean? What formed this...

Re: APOD: UGC 12591: The Fastest Rotating... (2017 Mar 07)
"There is no before. According to the ΛCDM model of the Big Bang , spacetime began at t=0. Even the singularity is questionable. Attempts to extrapolate back to conditions before the end of the Planck epoch using methods based on general relativity are indeterminate." So it has been said....

Big Bang (and other questions)
I still cannot wrap my mind around how the Universe was created from ONE singularity. The question, for me,remains. What came BEFORE the Big Bang? What formed this singularity? I am also curious about the rotations of Galaxies. Why do they spin? Do the Supermassive(all types) black holes, residing at th...

If the end result was a Black Hole..in this situation..it wouldn't have much to feed on? What future situations could a lone small Black Hole find itself in?
