Re: APOD Archive page seems broken

Anyway, I'll wait for them to get around to it, I'm missing that page quite a bit. You might try using the calendar instead of the archive . Maybe it will give you some of the functionality you desire. Clicking on any of the months will give you thumbnails of the images for that month. That looks g...

Re: APOD Archive page seems broken

I will say though, after your input, I can't help but be really really really tempted to scrape the entire site. I strongly advise against it. I made a fully php/mysql version years ago, but they didn't like it because they didn't want to learn php, didn't want to have to deal with updating, and we...

Re: APOD Archive page seems broken

They've received a lot of offers in the past and either declined them or didn't like the results. I'd expect the pattern here to be the same, but I suppose it's not technically impossible... Interesting. What's nice about having the codebase in a repo like github is that there's configurations for ...

Re: APOD Archive page seems broken

This has been previously noted and discussed here: https://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12939&start=275 Also, the editors are aware, and I believe reworking it is either planned or in progress. Uh, I wouldn't guess at when that might be done, though. Ok, good to hear they're aware...

APOD Archive page seems broken

It's been broken for me for a while now, probably a couple months. I just wanted to bring it to your attention that I think it may need to be revamped or paginated or something. Basically what happens is when I go to apod's picture of the day, which works great, I usually go to the archive to go thr...

Re: Favorite APOD

I'll have to concede with starbrush. That's one of my favorites too. Right now APOD archive is not viewable for me anymore. The browser doesn't process the full list and there are visual gaps between large blocks of links, and after a while it just says the page is unresponsive in Chrome... but I wi...

Re: Music Thread.

I thought I'd share mine. I have this tune that I happened to come across that's just amazing for me to look at deep space objects from the Hubble Telescope with. It's "A Deeper Silence" from Steve Roach. For me it's best to put it on earphones and turn all the way up because it's meant to...

Re: How BAD is Climate Change Going To Be?

Since the reality of climate change is now undeniable, I thought a new topic is in order. This can serve as a place to discuss the facts and projections of how bad things will get as well as how soon such effects will undoubtedly occur. :| PS. The current (Sept. 2019) issue of National Geographic h...

Re: Is Climate Change Real?

I live around the 60 degree latitude and I can say yes, given my own empirical observation of shorter winters, hotter summers, strange dry spells, and very odd variable snow fall, that climate change is happening. I was born up here in the arctic and remember through my childhood the very cold, dark...

RSS Feed Pagination

Hi, I was wondering if the APOD RSS feed is paginated? IE: I can go to the very first page via ?p=1 or ?page=1, or maybe an offset parameter. What would be neat is to make an endless scrolling app with the feed in my spare time.
