Every new mission is an great event. We are used to see only leaders in the headlines. But the the feature of success of space mission is cooperation. Inevitably one company cannot do all the work full of expertise, professionals and facilities. We are in the era when the finest cutting edge technol...

Re: Hubble Captures Supernova SN 2020fqv in NGC 4568

Right, thank you for sharing the news here. Supernovas, neutron stars, back holes and even comets, exoplanets coming out of the Solar system show us a glimpse of potential of we can know about the universe even in it's observable part. Re: Lucy: Mission to Jupiter’s Trojans

It is great that the Lucy mission is going correct. Pioneering for the space always has huge potential. Special missions bring precious data. And what is great, that with smaller ones we go from breakthroughs to routines. While it took 60 years for satellites become a daily thing. It takes couple de...

Re: Dark matter / energy

Dear Chris, you are right.
Some amendment: singularity is not exactly a physical understanding, it is rather a mathematical model, which we have to follow. My point was the 'information loss'.
And of course, the most strong alternative theories are ahead for new findings.

Spaces exploration focuses

There are two branches for space exploration: far missions and near-earth ones. I believe, the technology, engineering tests, time and effort that is spent for both are intertwined. The Moon, Mars, Venus and Mercury missions are set. James Webb Telescope is to be launched. The are many countries and...

Re: Dark matter / energy

Dark matter and dark energy is something that we know is there, but we don't know what it is. I agree with Chris, thank you for short and exact answering the question. Black holes - are the 'spheres', which have gravity, that even light can't escape. And for today's technology, we don't have any inf...

Re: James Webb

With James Webb Telescope astronomers hope to: 1. Study new galaxies that are close to the edge of the observable universe. 2. Find the first aggregations of stars that formed after the Big Bang. 3. Observe exoplanets with transmission spectroscopy. 4. Observe ‘earth-like atmospheres around other pl...
