M31 – Andromeda galaxy as imaged by an amateur. I think it is incredible how far our knowledge of the universe has progressed in under 100 years. For example, it was only 99 years ago that we (American astronomer Edwin Hubble) discovered/proved that our Milky Way was not the boundary to the universe...
