Re: APOD: Reunion Island Eclipse (2016 Sep 03)

I completely agree. This ...

An excellent idea!!!orin stepanek wrote:What? 16 planets and counting? How many dwarfs are out there? Maybe Mercury should be counted as a dwarf also! And the giants; maybe should be classified as giant planets instead as just planets! So maybe we have only 3 planets; Venus Earth and Mars!

Alice, first of all I would like to congratulate all APOD editors for the good work they have done for us during all those years, presenting exciting pictures and information. They are not imaging specialists and then it's difficult for me to blame them for having been fooled. However I would respe...

Stephen, everyone... This image appeared on Friday. Please note that 1.) it's the weekend; 2.) it's very likely the editor for this image was not at work on Friday, or at least, did not work a full day, as he's in the DC area (as am I), and the US Government in DC shut down at noon because of a seve...

One reason the APOD meeting at AAS was helpful was that we found out about this. APOD had no idea Dr. Wagner had been doing this until meeting him at this event.

The Owl has spent most of her time in meetings or in the exhibit hall, sometimes even in meetings in the exhibit hall. No science sessions (alas), and tomorrow is the last day! I plan to be in the exhibit hall again tomorrow to see various posters and plan to go to one of the science talks after see...
