Philae's adventure doesn't seem to be over. New information reveals its stuck sideways between rocks. Aside from the doability of some experiments the shadows there are threatening the power supply. Alright, most of us here know that Rosetta, its lander, and other missions are all providing valuable...

What are those small ridges on the ground on the left side of the picture?
Some old cracks filled with harder material? The rover drove over the big one. The material seems white or light grey.

The core of Saturn is a giant super crystal which symmentry leads to vortexes in the upper atmosphere.

Amazing pictures. Maybe Vesta was part of a larger protoplanet which might explain the differnt hemispheres. Maybe the composition and density differs due to the position in the body of the hypothetical former protoplanet. Or maybe Vesta was baked together from two different bodies in the young sola...
