Line of sight is discussed in the " frame" link for Wolf-Rayet (WR) nebula M 1-67.VictorBorun wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 9:19 am I wonder why the cloud looks so flat. Is it all in one plane which happens to be perpendicular to our line of sight?

I'm a little dissapointed there were no submissions where you could clearly see Jupiter's moon in conjuction with its proximity to Venus. Are there technical reasons for this or just nobody submitted a such an image?

Unknown atomic and molecular compounds encountered when visiting foreign domains pose threats to human safety. Suitports may be the answer to keep your nose from knowing how bad it smells even at Earth’s Hyperion.
I’d much rather smell a tree in hindsight.

Apparently studying dwarf galaxies associated with other galaxies is challenging but may shed light on our own. Lots of them so business may be booming.

Personally I would not like to see mapped colors for stars, so that, for example, hot stars like the ones of Orion's Belt would be colored purple (because they emit most of their light at ultraviolet wavelengths), or stars relatively similar to the Sun being mapped in shades of green. Ann this APOD...

How long of a trip would a spacecraft have to travel north from the galactic plane in order to see the Milky Way from a high enough angle to reveal its structure? By the time we go 48,000 light-years at our current highest speed to clearly see our galaxy , we’d probably already have a pretty good ma...

How would humans deal with first contact? Dust, the final frontier. Following its trek throughout time, and the episodes of the universe, give enterprising astronomers a lot more than a five year mission.
Seeking out new careers, they boldly explore the cosmic origins of dust bunnies.

Another Wolf-Rayet nebula NCG 6888 is heart-shaped. Mapping RCW 58 with the technology used to map the Crab Nebula might prove to be enlightening.
