Re: IfA: A Strange Lonely Planet Found without a Star

It's risky to try and predict events well before they've had chance to happen, but I'm confident that ESA's Gaia Space Telescope will be able to find many more of these objects relatively nearby in our galaxy, in addition to a host of 'regular' exoplanets ... & no I'm not talking about Niburu !...

Re: No Alien Visits or UFO Coverups

it baffles me how structures like those at saksaywaman could be built without help... and it kinda stands to reason that I don't think they did it without help. And yet, it is fairly well understood how they were built (and even details of the tools used are known). Archaeologists have since tested...

Re: No Alien Visits or UFO Coverups

you have no idea how much I have learned off of you guys over the years. because of the vastness of everything astronomy and space related i find my brain works overtime trying to convey points; take points in and formulate ideas of my own. this one I had is one I have had for a while. it baffles me...

Re: No Alien Visits or UFO Coverups

dont go with what art historians have said or anthropolgists. what does it look like to you as another person whos early ancestor drew this? Are you saying that if I, not currently an art historian or anthropologist, told you my opinion about a petroglyph, you'd take it seriously. But if I were to ...

Re: No Alien Visits or UFO Coverups

well thats precisely my point. why dont we assume we haven't been duped by our ancestors messages and look at them for what they are. I do not believe that my early ancestors were THAT bad at drawing. look at these Petroglyphs from Val Camonica Italy? what are they? (p.s. why do you need to be an ar...

Re: No Alien Visits or UFO Coverups

I have a theory (if you can call it that) on Alien Visitation. First off I will start a little closer to home. We as a species preserve animal that are slowly dying out to extinction. We also cull animals who are breeding close to overpopulation and we do both in what we believe are in the best inte...

Re: APOD: Arp 94 (2013 Oct 09)

If galaxies are all being flung to the far-flung 'horizons' of the Universe, the outermost going fastest (?), how would they come to be on collision courses at all ? The distance between galaxies is increasing, they are not "flung around". Though difficult to imagine this is something dif...

Re: APOD: Arp 94 (2013 Oct 09)

this reminds me of a question i posed before! if gravity pulls things in, or towards then what is the equal and opposing force? it must be somthing that pushes things out, or away from it. the question i asked (i think) was: "is gravity responsible for expansion?" sounds silly but if Einst...

M60 and M60-UCD1 are not one and the same. M60 (upper left) is a large elliptical galaxy, and M60-UCD1 (center) is an ultra-compact dwarf galaxy.

I read it wrong. sorry nitpicker.
