APOD if the US Government shuts down

Post by RJN » Thu Apr 07, 2011 12:37 am

APOD's main site at NASA's GSFC will go off the air if the US Government cannot get past the present budget impasse and shuts down over the next few days. APOD itself, however, will continue through its numerous mirror sites. New APODs will still be produced -- one every day as usual. This thread is an informational thread that will give details as to how this will happen. Please only post to this thread if you are involved in producing APOD, producing any of its mirror sites, moderating the Asterisk, or have a really good idea that we appear to be missing. A list of mirror sites is given here: http://www.star.ucl.ac.uk/~apod/apod/li ... _apod.html .

Thanks for bearing with us. New information will be posted here as it becomes known. We apologize for the inconvenience.
