Moon-Jupiter-Venus line-up and Perseid

Copyright: Stefano De Rosa Please find above an image I took early this morning (August 10, 2012), showing a Perseid meteor I had the fortune to capture together with the Moon-Jupiter-Venus line-up. I took the photo from the island of Elba (Isola d'Elba), near the town of Capoliveri, Italy. You can find other images of the session here: http://stefanoderosa.com/2012/08/10/moo ... ium-flare/

Fishing Thunders

Post by conemmil » Fri Aug 10, 2012 11:34 am

Hi,

Yesterday we had an amazing thunderstorm in northern Greece and I was lucky enough to carry my camera with me. Heading for a night swim I noticed that the weather was turning to be quite dynamic and quickly set up my Canon 5D to take some images. What I noticed was this fisherman that was almost like trying to capture the elusive thunders! Hope that you'll enjoy the images!

Best regards
Constantine Emmanouilidi

Marana Moonrise by Radical Retinoscopy, on Flickr

The following photograph depicts moonrise amongst cloudy skies north of Tucson, Arizona. Saguaro cacti along the mountain tops of the Tortolita range can be seen silhouetted against the sky. An almost full moon provided a great deal of back lighting and illumination intensifying the contrast of the scene.
