Carina nebula (APOD 25 Apr 2007)

houses several of the most massive stars known and has also changed its appearance
Does this mean that they have other images showing the changes? If so I want to see them..

Can you find and post a similar picture showing the same area but taken in the old analog (film) days? I think the comparison would be interesting. Thanks.

I see an alien blowing a bubble on the left hand side and a sheepdog head in the lower right corner

Yes but they were saying that the things in the night sky do not change.. And the caption of the pic of the day would indicate that things have changed. Thats why I asked. And the question was not a general discussion like the first post, But was directed at the picture of the day. Thats why I posted here.

Carina Nebula Illuminated by Einstein's e=mc2 (25 Apr 2007)

I was just talking yesterday about a Physics Today submission I did last December or November that the real point of e=mc2 is that radiation has an inertia. That is the last line of Einstein's Annalen De Physika article on e=mc2.

One conceptualization of that is that it takes a lot to multiply mass by to get an energy. Mass has to be multiplied or counter a lot of resistance to create an energy.

The point is that We see only a shroud in the Carina nebula that we call gas or dust. The mass of particles there has to be multiplied by a large quantity to create what we see. The idea that the Carina nebula is gas and dust only has to be observed for a long period of time. I think the most important thing about this picture is just the observation of the object. Does the Herbig Haro object change its resistance? Does the gas cloud resist the light of the Herbig Haro object? Does the gas cloud expand in some kind of physical interaction with the light of the Herbig haro object? How many new stars appear?

Mass has to be multiplied by a large quantity to produce light. Mass has much resistance to produce light. Radiation has a lot of resistance to produce energy. There is a resistance to seeing all the energies in the image. I think these are extrapolations from e=mc2 in that article. We are not seeing everything here. All the energies in the image are resisted by some kind of relationship like e=mc2. Photon or particle mass times large quantity produces energy. There is much not seen because of that resistance.

I have been having some trouble dealing with issues like being threatened with jail for saying our area profits from soldiers' deaths or replacement of missiles or saying a lot of alcohol contributes to deaths if served a lotand threatened with jail for saying the County profits from that. Still, I wanted to say that I think extrapolation from Einstein's article can illuminate this picture.
