Opposition effect (APOD 20 July 2007)

Post by Lasse H » Mon Jul 30, 2007 4:25 pm

I think there should have been a link to some site with photos and explanations of the "Opposition effect". It is so obvious around the shadow of the astronaut (esp. where he holds his camera) in the lunar dust.

It is obvious now that you've pointed it out! I didn't notice the opposition effect in that photo, but I did notice it on a beach near sunset. Will snap a photo next time.
