Rovers look up (APOD 3 Jul 2006)

If the rovers on Mars pointed their cameras towards the sky at 'night' would they 'see' stars?

Martian starry skies

Post by aichip » Mon Jul 03, 2006 8:29 pm

Yes. This has been done. I would have to sift through the images to find them, but I have seen some of the star images.

The quality is poor because the imagers were not made for night vision.
Cheers!

Thanks for the comment.

Last summer, my first and probably last visit to Hawaii, I was trudging back up out of the crater when I noticed, "That looks just like the photographs I've seen from the Mars robots."

Looks like a greenish hue at the base of husband hill. Probably some discoloration in the print? :?
