Poetry - please?
Re: Poetry - please?
There she goes in the dim street light.
I follow her as she tries to run in vain.
I overpower her in really short fight.
It will be weeks before I do it again.
Surreal killer.

(somewhere in nsa or fbi lone officer reas the post above and opens the case. over next few hours some moderator sends him my email address, and that officer now downloads my entire mailbox. he finds some nasty stuff in there and pings my local authorities based on IP addresses I use to log in to my email service. they arrest me next week and find dead bodies piled in my garage)

Just think of it as a v-e-r-y l-o-n-g all expenses paid vacation at the Hoosegow. Everybody needs to get away now and then... some more than others.
To find the Truth, you must go Beyond.

A poet to his love
By
Maxwell Bodenheim
AN old silver church in a forest
Is my love for you.
The trees around it
Are words that I have stolen from your heart.
An old silver bell, the last smile you gave,
Hangs at the top of my church.
It rings only when you come through the forest
And stand beside it.
And then, it has no need for ringing,
For your voice takes its place.

Looking at that shining moon
guaranteed to make you swoon
surely it will set too soon
guaranteed to rise by noon

Aliens will find Earth absolutely amazingly beautiful and fragile to behold. But if they get close enough, they'll see 7,000,000,000 of us and think "Uh oh, that's a lot for such a small planet. Wonder if we should help?"
Re: Poetry - please?
I'm new to the forum and excited by this thread. Here's a little gem that came to mind today.
Three Oddest Words
by Wislawa Szymborska
When I pronounce the word Future,
the first syllable already belongs to the past.
When I pronounce the word Silence,
I destroy it.
When I pronounce the word Nothing,
I make something no nonbeing can hold.

If the future is in the past
It's surely because it didn't last.
When silence is spoken,
The quiet alliance is broken.
When there is nothing here
There must be something there.
Thanks for the inspiration
It created no perspiration...

Mark, that's probably the best reponse I've ever gotten in a forum. Thumbs up! But full credit goes to Wislawa for the inspiration.
