Hello here is a panorama of the milkyway above lavander fields of Valensole in France.
It has been shot in the beginning of July when lavender flowers are still present. The spot is Bortle class 4.
The sky is a panorama of 9 tiles where each is a stack of 5 pics with following settings : ISO-3200, F2.5, 30 sec.
Equipment : Canon 6D, Sigma ART 50mm, Skywatcher Star Adventurer
Location: Puimoisson, France.
Date : 3rd July 2022

Perseids (August 2020)

Over the weekend I redid this 2 year old photo from the Perseids meteor shower of August 2020. I shot several long nights around Aug 13 from Staré Hamry (Czech Republic) with 2 cameras to capture as many meteors as possible. I managed to photograph and process 28 of them, which I then incorporated into this mosaic.
I also photographed the trees and overal foreground from multiple angles and the same place as the sky and meteors. This particular foreground photo was taken after moonrise (I suspect it was sometime after midnight). The sky is 1on1 correct to the foreground and is combination of 5 photos merged into panorama.
Processed in PTGuI and Photoshop, developing RAW via Lightroom.
Canon 6D Mark II + Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 for meteors.
Canon 6D astromod + Samyang 24 mm f/1.4 for sky and landscape.

Super Nova Remnant (SNR) G82.2+5.3 (also referred to as W63), seems to be exclusively in the OIII emission line and requires a very long exposure time to make a visible image. (There is little or no sign of the SNR in a 10 minute exposure). The structure consists of thin sharply defined filaments that form a vaguely oval shell. It is believed to be located at a distance of 10,500 light years and based on observations, an age of between 14,000 to 21,000 years has been estimated.

The Milky Way in the Cygnus constellation
Several large emission nebulae are clearly visible in this wide-field shot: the North American and Pelican with the star Deneb close by; the Sadr nebular complex in the center of the image; and, in the lower-right part of the image, the Veil nebula.

This year the Perseid meteor shower will be with the full moon , so during 3 nights 5, 6 , 7 August 2022 we tried to capture the maximum number of the meteors before the full moon' nights .
So we captured around 1200 photos to get this number of the meteors near the desert of elFayoum and last day we captured the Magic lake at the blue hour only 10 km apart .

Great image, Osama! I particularly love how Zeta Ophiuchi - the star at lower right surrounded by a large round reddish nebula - appears to fire off its own meteor! The Île d'Or is located in the Var, in the town of Saint-Raphaël, and faces the Dramont landing beach. It would have inspired Hergé to create the Black Island of the adventures of Tintin.
The Perseids are a swarm of shooting stars visible each year in August, when the Earth crosses its path. This year's peak was around August 10.
First difficulty… On this date the full moon took place. The Milky Way was therefore not visible, because of the strong luminosity emitted by the Moon.
So I made this image on August 2, when the Moon was setting early. The shooting stars were rather rare… Only one visible that evening… And luckily, it passed right above the lighthouse of the island, next to the Rho Ophuici region…
Another difficulty was to manage the heavy light pollution generated by the coastal towns (Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Raphaël and Saint-Tropez). This required reducing the "ISO" of the device and doing "stacking" consisting of stacking several (strictly identical) photos of the sky. The goal was to reduce noise and capture as much information as possible.
We can therefore distinguish the Milky Way, and its "bulb" (or "heart") inside which there are many nebulae, stars and globular clusters.
Here is the final image: panorama of 4 photos taken with the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 - Canon 6d Astrodon. 10 minutes of exposure.
I was accompanied that evening by my father. A good moment of sharing with the family!

RCW 98 - THE COFFEE BEAN NEBULA
RCW 98 is one of the southern 182 objects that astronomers Rogers, Campbell and Whiteoak placed in their RCW catalogue published in 1960.
In particular RCW 98 is an HII region with a ring type structure around a Wolf Rayet star. Strong radiation from nearby stars is causing star formation in each bright section of the nebula where proto-stars have been detected by radio telescopes. The nebula is 310 thousands years old and it is ionized by super giant CPD-54 6791. The ionised gas has strong electron densities which are significantly high and produces star formation.
