Thanks, Jac!
I followed the link and found an entry on NGC 891, which is one of my favorite galaxies. It has been studied by the JWST.
Tomasz Nowakowski of Phys.org wrote:
JWST allowed Chastenet's team to detect dust emission out to about 13,000 light years from the disk of NGC 891. This emission was identified in the form of filaments, arcs and super-bubbles.
It turned out that some of these filaments connect back to the mid-plane, to regions of high star formation rate in NGC 891. This finding suggests that feedback-driven galactic winds play an important role in regulating baryonic cycling.
How fascinating! For some reason, this reminds me of solar prominences:
Anyway, NGC 891 is known for its large number of very actively smoking "chimneys" along its dust lane:
Very interesting! Thanks, Jac!

I liked this entry too, about the Wow! radio signal from 1977.
The Wow! signal lasted for 72 seconds and was extremely bright:
There has been widespread speculation that the Wow! signal may have been aliens trying to communicate with humans. It turns out, however, that the Wow! signal was a gamma ray burst, probably from a magnetar, whose gamma ray jet passed through a cloud of neutral hydrogen, triggering the signal.
