I get (reasonably well) paid by the government to do research into how galaxies form, not to make pretty pictures. I do that in my spare time. I'm much more interested in pretty graphs, they tell so much more.

You'll find plenty of them here.

I would imagine that with MRO in operation, they have shifted priority $ to the new platform for the better science it will afford.
