3D glasses audience on APOD

Post by Rose » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:43 am

Hello All, I'm confused.......does anyone else out there have an image of of 50's movie theatre of people wearing 3D glasses?......APOD is my Desktop Background with wonderful new images everyday.....but tonight, I have this silly image. I hope it's not someone interfering with the APOD site. Rose

Hi Rose, it's a mistake in the Desktop Background program, most likely. In today's APOD description there is a link to this audience you speak of and the program mistakenly put that on your desktop instead of the intended Voynich Manuscript.
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.

I've got the same wallpaper of the 3D glasses audience. The picture linked by geckzilla is it, but where is the link on the apod site? I checked all the links and none pan out. Thanks.

It's in the third to the last sentence:
Can the eclectic brain trust of APOD readers make any progress?
"APOD readers" being the link.

Hhmmm.... So that whole "eclectic brain trust" thing was totally sarcastic then!
  • *ECLECTIC* , a. [Gr. to choose.] Selecting; choosing; an epithet given to certain philosophers of antiquity, who did not attach themselves to any particular sect, but selected from the opinions and principles of each, what they thought solid and good.

Words rhyming with *ECLECTIC* : *HECTIC* , *APOPLECTIC*
