They have re-named it Simone, too, as if that would make it nicer somehow.
(Why not Lena, if they had to come up with a new name? Lena Horne singing Stormy Weather?)
One has to be:
1) one of the more obscure of the Twelve Apostles
2) with your feast day on October 28
3) and have been killed with either an axe or a saw.
Lena Horne is disqualified
since I believe she was killed with a horn.
I suppose it depends on where you are. The weather or not guys said wind and rain. But then... what do they know
haha, i just noticed the caption on the picture. "Before the storm".

Oh, I was out in yesterday morning and didn't, in fact, come in until about half past two. That was all right. It was raining quite hard during those hours, but at about four o'clock the rain stopped, the Sun broke through the clouds, and everything was beautiful - and then, like switching on a wind machine, the storm was over us. The wind blew 59 meters per second on the Öresund Bridge, which is kind of windy if you ask me. (The bridge closed during the storm, in case you're wondering.) These girls look like tourists watching the bridge during the storm. Fortunately, where I live, the winds only hit 25 meters per second.
same here. Sunny 'n 49f today! Been cloudy, wet, and cool for over a week.
they say that most of December will be below average temps too. brrr.
not looking forward to that of course.
Aliens will find Earth absolutely amazingly beautiful and fragile to behold. But if they get close enough, they'll see 7,000,000,000 of us and think "Uh oh, that's a lot for such a small planet. Wonder if we should help?"
Found myself looking through a gallery of my grandfather's photos of Tacloban. I put them online a while back just because I thought they were interesting. Now the whole island is destroyed (again?) by a typhoon? I was just talking about these photos with my dad the other day because he was tired of them sitting around in his house. Anyway, hurricanes/typhoons suck.
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.
A long while back I sponsored a kid from the Philippines! He would be a young man by now! I wonder if he still lives there; and if so; how he fared during the storm!
We're going all the way up to a high of 0° today. Despite what the calendar says, that makes it officially winter in my books. Thus I enter my yearly four months of depression, and wishful thinking about lotteries and endless beaches lapped by warm waters. [sigh]
I like winter because there are no mosquitoes and sleeping is so nice. Oh yeah, and hot spiced cider or cocoa? Yes! With modern comforts, it's better than summer.

It's cold here, too. Not as cold, but still cold. Windy, too; the scraping of the pyracantha under my son's bedroom window against the siding woke him up. He hates the sound and I suspect that despite the weather, there will be some serious pruning of that shrub today! By him, I mean... I'm certainly not going to do it.
Rob, for you:
