What's happening this Friday?

Post by Tkelf » Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:09 pm

Hi All, I'm a new user and I was looking for a place that I can find out what is going to be happening in the sky this Friday night, August 27th? I'm going to be with a group of friends in the Northern California foothills and I was wondering if there's anything besides the waning moon and the occassional meteor that we could be looking at. Any ideas, or do you know a resource for what to look for?
Thanks,
Tkelf

Hi, and welcome!

You might want to look at Sky and Telescope's very handy "what's going on this week" page, which is here: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/ataglance/

(Oh, they don't call it that, but that's what it is!)

And then when you see cool stuff, come back and tell us what you saw, please!!

Have fun!
