I didn't realize' that I was the only one that could see the photo; and that was why I stayed logged on.

Third= Sounds like a request for another snap shot. Oh well I need the practice!

bystander, in your post, the first link still does not display the image and when clicked, still gives me "the attachment dosen't exist anymore." I had tried a cut and paste with the link from Orin's post and got the same thing: no pic.

It should be fixed, now. The attachment had been orphaned. Orin must have inadvertently deleted it. I reattached it to his post.

Maybe it isn't a bone.

If not; what is it?

This is try #2 to up load.

The cement is on the bottom of the photo; the (whatever it is) on the top. When holding it in mand it looks like it is made of bone.

Whatever it is looks like it may have what appears to be a couple of teeth. When the weather warms up I will see if there are any more out there.

Orin, looking at it with a magnyfing glass, to me it looks like a different color cement that was at one time attached to a now missing cinder block, or the like. There are all different shades of cement even if you don't add color. I know from the stone work done in my house by a guy i used to work with. I have a few shades of color from almost white to plain grey staring at me. Its a good thing he was cheap!
So, you have a cement block around that you could try to see if it fits the angle in the middle? Or a Square to see if its a 90' angle, like the corner of a block?

The dark is regular concrete and not cinder block. The white doesn't have the texture of any cement that I ever seen. It doesn't have a sand or gravel mix that would be with cement. More like the texture of bone or calcium; but hard like stone. That is why I thought it may be petrified bone. When it warms up again; I'll do a little digging. If I find more; I'll take some more pictures. I can't figure why it would be buried in the middle of my back yard? If it is some type of cement; it still has me puzzled. Of course that doesn't take much.

Maybe I can break a chunk of it off!

I think it is a type of cement; but mixed without a filler like sand of gravel. looking at it further it appears to have been wrapped around something. It's got to have been in the ground a long time; as I have lived here almost 50 years.

Orin, very pretty! I love daffodils, and have different kinds in my yard, including little bitty ones that stand only 3 or 4 inches high. They're very cute!

I bring large (varied) daffodils into work and give them to various folks. Nothing says spring like daffodils, not even cherry blossoms!
