I managed to scroll down to the bottom of the forum to notice this occurrence today. Here are some images with almost any notion of credit long lost to the swift rivers of the the 'net.

Meteor photo by H. Raab. Happy face added by me. I got carried away with that.

Chris has survived another revolution around the Sun on our little cosmic haven we call Earth.

Must have something to do with the 'Colorado Rocky Mountain High' that John Denver sang about.

Thanks, all! Thought about doing a nice ride today, but since the temperature hasn't gone above -2°F by noon, I think I'll pass on that. Did ride a couple of days ago with the wind chill in the single digits, and that was still pretty nice. Lots of sun, of course. Will risk 100 km of ice tonight to go out to dinner, though. One way. But we'll stay in town and return tomorrow. Roads should be mostly clear by then.

Keep hoping these cold temperatures will deliver some nice halos and arcs, but I think it's just too dry. I did see a weak 22° halo earlier, with three sundogs. But not good enough I felt like taking a picture, and it's gone now. But I keep checking the sky every so often.

Indeed, Happy Birthday, Chris! It is good to have you here as a resident professional astronomer.

It seems that Chris's birthday is still on this day.

It is. I hope, however, to live long enough that equinoctial precession moves it to another day!

Just one more trip around the sun. It's a good thing it takes a year, or we all might get dizzy and fall over.
