Well, whatever you want, since it's on a black background it's fairly easy to do the whole ring system with alpha transparency. But then the drop shadow will begin look strange.

That's ten minutes... if it weren't against a black background then it would be very hard. Anyway, you get a big ol' whatever from me on this one, Chris. You won't guess motives but you'll call it lazy.

Personally, I always advocate for the laziest approach that will achieve the desired end.
