At the top of the Volcano

Guatemalan Volcanic Chain, as seeing from the top of Volcan Santa Maria (3,700meters) Above sea level. The volcanoes you can see at the top are: Tolimán, Santiago, Siete Orejas, Atitlán, Chicabal, Lacandón, Fuego, Agua, Acatenango, Tacaná & Tajumulco & Santiaguito, the Image contains: Tolimán, Atitlán, Fuego, Agua, Acatenango.

The Erupting Volcano is Volcán de Fuego.

All under the Milky Way.

**
At high altitude you get the chance to see the world in a different perspective, reaching the top is not easy, hicking trought hard paths are always the hard test of prooving your will.
It took some hard time to get to the top, around 5 hours, then work at temperatures under zero, I tried to sleep while the Moon was still above the horizon, then after a really hard time with cold weather I went out of my tend and walk around the top of the volcano named Santa María, I tried to look for some safe place to cover my self from the wind speed and cold, I wasn't able to find a good spot where I can see the Milky Way from without the wind speed, so I ust startshooting, some or most of my pictures where affected by the wind speed, any way, when I was alone at at the top, with the Galaxy we belong too and the volcanoes of the country I was born, I was so impressed by the beauty of nature and how powefull the Universe can be.
The foreground shows, part of my scenario, the Santa María Volcano, also it shows at the bottom left, the Volcanos around the Atitlan Lake, Volcan de Agua, Acatenango, Fuego and Pacaya the volcano that is erupting in the image was the Fuego Volcano, you can see the lava... I called this Extreme Astrophotography!

Solar Eclipse Sequence from Longyearbyen
Copyright: Chen Jiajun

On March 20, the Moon's umbral shadow tracked across Longyearbyen, Svalbard. A series of exposures follows the progress of the total solar eclipse in this composite image. From the beginning to the end, the eclipse lasted more than 2 hours, the sun barely rised, but parallel to the horizon , slowly moving westward, because Longyearbyen is within the Arctic Circle. At the total phase, lasting about 2 and half minutes for that location, an otherwise faint solar corona shimmers around the eclipsed disk.

Last night I flew back home to Sweden from the Faroe Islands after seeing the total solar eclipse. During my flight over the Nordic Sea I had the most beautiful view outside my airplane window. A crescent moon and planet Venus conjunction that was with me for a great deal of the trip. So here's my first ever Moon/Venus selfie I've taken, I took it through the airplane window at 10.000 m. (30.000 feet) above the ground.
