Hello to all sky observers!

Here is an image I made at Meteora Kalambaka Greece. This time, weather was a big hustle as forecast was very bad for the site of Meteora but luckily clouds cleared just in time where totality was happening.

I planned this image many months ahead of time and wanted to capture the magnificent natural structures of Meteora, under the red light of totality. I think that the image turned out to be very close to what I had on my mind and even the clouds made it more interesting. Overall it was a wonderful eclipse and I really liked the sounds of the monasteries in the morning hours as the monks there have a special way of notifying the start of a new day not by bells but by hitting a wooden hammer on a wooden surface called Simantro. The whole scenery was very surreal and hopefully I've captured some of it with this panorama frame which was made out of 65 images with a 24mm lens and a full frame DSLR camera.

It took 16 hours to drive at the site make the images and come back home and another 12 hours to assemble the panorama and correct the red cast from noise in order to make the land have the natural light from the eclipse.

This past eclipse was the last of a tetrad. 4 eclipses in 2 years, all of them visible (at least partially) from North America. I traveled to 4 beautiful places in the US to take pictures of these 4 eclipses.

Hi

I wanted to share my latest work. It's a timelapse of the latest lunar eclipse, 4:30 hours in 18 seconds, and it clearly shows the eclipsed Moon traveling through the sky, with the background stars moving behind it:

Unfortunately, some clouds came into view for a brief period of time but overall one can appreciate the whole eclipse.

This work required quite a lot of planning and effort (documented in the video description), and IMHO it paid out. Hope you like it as much as I do

This is my first attempt at night sky photography. I knew we would be seeing many beautiful images of the eclipse taken with long telephoto lenses. Since I could not compete in that arena I chose to use my wide angle lens and do a composite image.

This photo was taken near Tucson, Arizona. Pusch Ridge in the Santa Catalina mountains is silhouetted in the foreground along with the obligatory Saguaro cactus.

Images were captured at 5 min intervals.
