Daylight saving time?

It's now 7.11 a.m. local time in Sweden, and I'm waiting for the Astronomy Picture of the Day. Usually it appears around 6.10 a.m. or so, but not today.

Could it be that you have daylight saving time in the United States already?

It will come later today after some big press conference.
US version:

EU version:
https://www.eso.org/public/announcements/ann17071/

Presumably they are for the same announcement, though the EU one makes it sound so much more ominous. The US one is like oh, it's LIGO again.

Thanks for the info!

And, yes, the EU one really sounds pretty ominous!

Instead of yesterday's image, why didn't they have a some kind of announcement saying that? :-?
I thought the site was hacked or something.

The APOD FaceBook page, at least, has such an announcement...
The APOD for 2017 Oct 16 will be delayed pending an announcement from the NSF and the LIGO and Virgo collaborations at 10 am EDT.

Thanks Rob. Not on Facebook, but I (finally) did notice the announcement the bottom of yesterday's image.
