I have seen green fireballs 3 times. Once during a meteor shower, once during New Years (this was followed by internet chat about a UFO, believe it or not), and the last time was in the daytime. From my experience, this is a meteor. The green color alone verifies it, and a plane would not reflect a green color and leave a white trail that gets smaller, instead of larger. The fireball trails tend to be a red glow, consistent with the picture. That said, I think the picture was taken in twilight, and not at night.

But your picture resembles what I have seen the best. The ones I have seen were over in 1/3 of a second. How did you get the picture, was it very slow-moving?
