Woman admiring the Lunar eclipse on July 27th, 2018 in Andalusia, Spain.

120ED Sky Watcher telescope, focal 900mm and Canon 40D. To do this photograph the distance between the woman and the camera was half a mile.

The correct position was calculated with:
https://www.photoephemeris.com/

This image has been treated slightly in color curves and some wrinkles or small imperfections of the dress. Finally deconvolution and noise cleaning. Done with GIMP and Astraimage software.

Witch Head Nebula (IC 2118).
Capture made by the longtime friend FO Menezes de São Paulo. I am happy to follow the evolution of my astronomical friends.
Located about 900 light years from us, it is about 70 light years from end to end. It is a nebula of reflection (nebula that reflects the light of a neighboring star). The next star, responsible for its brightness and blue color, is Rigel, the brightest star in the Orion constellation whose brightness is 85,000 times greater than the Sun.

Please find below the following images:

The first, taken on the evening of March 20, 2019, shows the Moon rising next the Basilica of Superga, sitting on the top of a hill in the sorrunding of Turin (Italy). Completed in 1726, it representes one of the symbols of the city and resembles some elements of Michelangelo's dome at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The second, taken on the morning of March 21, 2019, shows the Moon setting by the Saint Michael's Abbey (Sacra di San Michele), a religious complex on Mount Pirchiriano (962 m high), few kilometers from Turin. This monumental abbey served as one of the inspirations for the book The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

This image is the latest edition of my repeated trials on this probably most magnificent of all nebulae. The deep image took more than six hours of exposure to unveil the incredible beauty and complexity of this sky object using H-alpha and O[3] narrow band filters.

"The greatest show"

On the night of August 11th, I climbed up to a mountain hut in the French Alps. It took me about 7-8 hours to get to the hut with all my photography gear. I had planned this shot for more than 2 years.

As you can see in the photo, The Perseids fly over the sky in the presence of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Also, you can see the highest mountain in the European Union, the always magnificent Mont Blanc, in the French Alps.
Surrounded by two glaciers that converge a bit further down, you can see both of them in the image, the Mer de Glace which flows for a total distance of 12 kilometers, covering an area of 32 square kilometers in the central third of the Mont Blanc massif. On the left-hand side, you can spot the Leschaux Glacier and its hut (the light just next to the glacier).
In addition, if you take a deeper look, just below the Grandes Jorasses mountain range you will be able to spot climbers trying to summit the mountain with the first lights (you can see their headlamps).
As always, we were gifted with a spectacular Perseids show at almost 3000m high.

I captured this amazing view during my October trip in New Zealand last year. I was lucky to witness Aurora Australis twice during my journey. Favorable forecast of auroral activity on 10th of October 2018 called me to spend almost the whole windy night next to city Riverton in the south of the South Island. It was worth it. I enjoyed that moment absolutely and I would like to share my experience with you. I hope you will like the picture.

On March 31, 2005, just minutes after the Cassini spacecraft's closest approach to Titan, Cassini viewed Saturn peeking through Titan's thick atmosphere. AN EMISSION NEBULA IN ORION Sh2-261

Sh2-261 (aka Lower's Nebula or Sharpless 261) is found in the constellation Orion near the border of Gemini. Sh2-261 is a large faint region of predominantly ionized hydrogen. The distance of this nebula is not known with certainty, but estimated to be about 3000 light years away. Image was a total of 8 hours exposure taken with a Takahashi CCA-250 f/5 astrograph and QSI683wsg camera (Astrodon Gen2 filters) on a Paramount ME during the nights of 28, 30 Jan; 26 Feb; and 5 Mar 2019 in Mayhill, NM (15 x 1200 sec lights @ -20 degrees C.; 3 x 1200 sec with R, G, and B filters; 24 darks; 128 flats; 128 bias). Processed in PixInsight 1.8.6.1457 Ripley (x64).
