XXX of the YY

Hi there.

I'd like to know about as many APOD-style sites as possible. That is, they are:
1. Picture / video / music... Anything cool or informational counts.
2. of the day / week / month... Any regular period counts.
3. The sites have an effective archive system which allow easy browsing and accessing any pic/day at will.
4. They have some texts accompanying the main stuff to explain it or give context. Not too long though. I find APOD's text of proper length :ssmile:

Let's get some examples. Bing has 1 of the best PotD series on the internet, but it doesn't qualify points 3 & 4 above, so it's out. On the other hand, Wiki PotD sometimes features trivial stuffs, like a mugshot of the youngest German politician, but it satisfies all 4 conditions, so it's in. I think judging something as trivial or interesting is very subjective & should be left for the individual to choose.

So far, I've found EPOD, HEARSAC PotW, Hubble heritage, ESOcast, Hubblecast, EarthOb IotD, iac PotM, photographingspace's IotW. Are there cool sources that I miss?

@bystander: I mistyped HEAPOW into Hearsac PotW in the 1st post. Your CFHT link is a valuable find!

@nitpicker: I followed your link and ended up at some strange admin-like text page. Clicking around there didn't lead to materials at all?

I don't know how often this is updated anymore, but it's still excellent to go through: https://atoptics.co.uk/opod.htm

Yeah, OPOD is an extraordinary site that I found out via numerous links from our beloved APOD. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an archive system for their OPODs.

It would be trivial to write a script that lists all of them in order, though. From https://atoptics.co.uk/fza1.htm to https://atoptics.co.uk/fza168.htm
