These days the comet C/2020 F3 Neowise is filling our skies undisturbed with its bright and vigorous tail. We are observing it in all the sauces, even its ion tail. Many were the photos that showed us the details of this unexpectedly so fascinating object.

We, however, wanted to do something more by revealing it from a different point of view.

Here is the Comet C/2020 F3 Neowise at dawn (4:32 am) from Porto Cesareo (Puglia, Italy) in one of our slightly out of the ordinary photos.
We tried to photograph it emphasizing the magic of those moments. The same magic that feeds the incredible emotions that you feel while observing it with the naked eye or with a simple pair of binoculars. Something unbelievable.

When you say "capture a comet"... in every sense.

P.s. thanks Rosalia for holding up that vase for over 60 minutes in search for the perfect moment.

Shot details:
The shot, particularly challenging due to the very low position of the subject on the horizon, required first a research phase using geographical maps and over 90 minutes to find a point for the perfect alignment of camera, girl and comet.

Once the ideal combination was found, the photograph was taken in just a few minutes to prevent the comet from straying too far from the girl due to the celestial motion.

The photograph was taken with a mirrorless, a tripod and a simple fixed 50mm lens closed to f4.

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) - fine structure in the coma and tail.

Imaged at 2020-07-11 UT 10:25. To bring out as much detail as possible, I stacked nine images, exposed from 0.25 sec to 60 sec in one stop intervals (similar to the way I process solar eclipses.) Equipment: Canon 7D (ISO 1600) on a Stellarvue 102A refractor. The field is 2° wide, scale 3.6 arcsec/pixel.

Particularly interesting is the oddly split inner coma surrounded by an outer coma. The ion tail is faintly visible at the top.

I've been following this comet closely for the last week, and am looking forward to next week, when I can study it at 10pm instead of 4am!

MOON IN COLOR

The first test with asi6200mc, data of 500gb of memory was captured, to make this image, steel and a mosaic. It was done trying to make the most of the sensor size. It took almost 24 hours to process the image.
The colors are impressive, especially the marbled appearance around the **Tycho **crater.
I suggest opening the link below, I didn't do any noise reduction techniques.

The moon is usually seen in subtle shades of gray or yellow.
The different colors are recognized to correspond to actual differences in the chemical composition of the lunar surface. Blue hues reveal areas rich in ilmenite, which contains iron, titanium and oxygen, mainly titanium, while orange and purple show relatively poor titanium and iron regions.
White areas are taller areas that are most exposed to the sun.
Trips to the moon have already been indicated by similar images.

Here is a panorama that I took from the top of the 150ft Solar Tower at Mount Wilson Observatory during the morning of July 13th. Comet F3 NEOWISE can seen rising in the dawn twilight next to the Historic 100" telescope dome. Venus also makes a beautiful presentation in the constellation Taurus near the center of the panorama.

The complex Posidonius crater

With a diameter of 95 km, depth of 2.3 km. Its walls are irregular, with rhyme inside and several small domes. A beautiful crater to see.
