NGC 2070 - The Tarantula Nebula in SHO

Here is an image of Doradus 30, otherwise known as the Tarantula Nebula in SHO which is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

This was taken from my remote setup in Yass, Australia. Data was acquired over multiple nights in September 2021, this image's FOV is approximately 1.92 x 1.28 degrees. Taken with a Skywatcher Esprit 150 Triplet APO.

L - Blend of SII, HA, OIII
R - SII (21 x 10 min)
G - HA (30 x 10 min)
B - OIII (18 x 10 min)

Shot on September 11 from my rural backyard in Hartford, Alabama, USA. Taken with the Losmandy GM811G Equatorial Mount, William Optics GT81 Telescope, and a ZWO ASI2600MC Cooled Color Camera.

Lunar corona over Taranto (Italy)

Not knowing how much time I would have available, I went crazy to shoot freehand.
I had the standard lens mounted, the 18-55mm, I disabled all the automatic devilry, set the ISO to 3200 and started shooting with increasingly shorter times, from 0.5 seconds.
28 shots in all and this is the result of adding them manually.

Reflection Near Sadr in HaLRGB

This is a HaLRGB image of an (as far as I am aware) relatively faint unnamed reflection nebula nearby the star Sadr and NGC 6910. I personally call it the "Happy Man on a Magic Carpet" nebula, as the dark dust cutting through the blue reflection looks like a man raising his hands in joy. I really enjoyed shooting this area, and wish there were more images focused on this specific area of reflection.

The data for this image was gathered during the tumultuous monsoon season we have here in the southwest. All LRGB data was collected at various B2-B3 locations across Arizona and eastern California as I moved around to avoid storms. The Ha data was collected from my B5 backyard in Cave Creek, AZ.

I had a few issues with intruding glow from Sadr and other various gradients, but in the end I'm quite happy with the way I've displayed the region.

Total Integration Time: 21.27 hours

The equipment used was a GSO 6in F5 Newtonian Reflector paired with a ZWO ASI1600mm and Ioptron CEM70 Mount. Filters used were ZWO LRGB and Astronomik 6nm Ha. Processed in PixInsight. Hope you enjoy the shot!

It's finally done! A 24-panel version of my mosaic in Cygnus centered around the rarely imaged Supernova Remnant W63 (G 82.2+5.3). In the end, I had to build a new PC to process all the data.

Total: 213 hours; Ha - 72 hours; [OIII] - 70 hours; [SII] - 44 hours; RGB - 27 hours

Helix Nebula - NGC 7293

THE GLOBULAR CLUSTER M2

The first globular cluster to be added to the Messier catalogue, M2 is located about 37,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Aquarius, it was discovered by Franco-Italian astronomer Giovanni Domenico Maraldi on September 11, 1746 while observing with Jacques Cassini a comet.

Bryce Canyon National Park Milky Way

The high elevation, dry desert air, and distance from major cities all meant that this park should have stunning dark skies. Needless to say, the hype was worth the wait as we made the trek there to explore and capture the night sky.

The Milky way cross over the Teide National Park and in the horizon the Volcano Cumbre Vieja continue with the eruption. The center core of our Galaxie is in this photo over the highest mountain in Spain , El Teide that its also and active Volcano.

Last week I spend some day with the people of La Palma Trying to help them in something, many people has lost all. In the night I have the opportunity to try to photograph the Volcano activity with the milky way in the background . This is the result . Impresive eruption . The best to all the people in La Palma .

Mt Kilauea eruption with The Moon, Milky Way band, and Orion Constellation.

This was photographed on Oct 1st while hiking to Mt. Mauna Kea summit. My wife and I were about 3 hours away from the summit. We started at midnight from the visitor center. At around 2 AM we looked back and noticed the glow. We kept hiking for another hour to get the moon in the shot.

This is a a stack of 17 shots each of which is 20 secs using Canon R5 at 15 mm f/2.8. It was cold, breezy and the altitude was so high the oxygen pressure was dropping. I was beginning to feel altitude sickness.

Northern Scutum:
A six Pane Mosaic of the Northern area of Scutum in LRGB. Taken over two Summers with a Tak FSQ106ED at 0.53m.
Total 66hrs exposure.
I always love looking at this part of the Milky Way. To me it seems almost as bright as the core of the Milky Way, and I always wanted to shoot this in a wide field mosaic.

Devil's Throat - Iguazu Falls - Brazil
Registering the Milky Way Arch over the Devil's Throat, at Iguazu Falls/Brazil, was an incredible experience. In addition to the great adventure of walking through the Iguaçu National Park at night, home of jaguars and pumas, being close to the most impressive waterfalls in the world and feeling all the power and beauty of nature was an experience of a lifetime.
