In this image we see it face on an hour glass formation. This is what I think the Bubble nebula is also similar.

but I really can't see the hourglass formation in the bubble nebula - although I see the similarities you are pointing out.

It must be my eyes seeing things that others do not.

Look At the bubble again and the rear side of the bubble you will see the reverse of the hour glass formation.
