Crab Nebula Image

Post by bigelowrs » Thu Dec 08, 2005 10:20 pm

I downloaded the stunning picture of the Crab Nebula posted on December 2, and discovered that the resolution is only 1280 x 1024. Please forgive me if this is s common question: Is there anywhere I can go to download a higher-resolution image? I would like to print it at 13x19...the largest my printer can handle, so I need something like 2500 x 4000 to get a decent print.

Many of these images can be obtained from their sources.

Click around a bit from the links given on that page and you may be able to get a better image. You may be able to just order a bigger print also.

Norval,
Thanks...I'll see what I can find. I'm a "Photoshop jockey" though, so I really like to print my own rather than buy prints.
That is just such a stunning image of the "Crab." I want a big print to hang on the wall...

Near the bottom of the page is a .JPG file that is 33.333 x 41.667 inches (per photoshop) it's only 700k so it loads quickly and prints well. the frame could also be cropped making the overall size 31 x 31.

Hope this info helps.
