Hi:

Usually we have stunning photography here, but I think the pic for Feb 7 is very disappointing. In fact I think it is a terrible picture.

First, the Sun is way way too large. Second, if the Sun the its satellite were in the same view, then there one would not see the large crescent of illumination visible on the planet (or non-planet). And third, the planet and its moon are illuminated from different directions!

This is a truly fascinating story. The text is great as usual. Too bad it is illustrated with such an inaccurate and misleading piece of work.

I really appreciate APOD's excellent quality. Let's hope not too many more bloopers get through.
