Re: APOD: Apollo 11 Landing Site Panorama (2012 Aug 30)

I'm sure someone may have asked this before, but does anyone notice there are no stars at all? Not even the slightest glimmer of a trace. The moon atmosphere is virtually nonexistent. Stars should be like bright point lasers in the sky. Did they take this photo with digital or film equipment? Digit...

Re: APOD: A Flight Through the Universe (2012 Aug 13)

seeing this video causes me to wonder. If everything in the visible universe originated from the big bang, than that means that there should be a center to the universe right? Would it be possible to maybe find hints or clues from this data that could point us in the direction of the center of the u...

Re: APOD: M13: The Great Globular Cluster in... (2012 Jun 14

Does the density of the cluster make it impossible for Kepler to detect any planets orbiting the core stars? What would they look like, showered with radiation? I would think kepler is sensitive enough to detect planets orbiting the core stars. The problem is that current models predict that globul...

Looking at this picture I imagine a young child in moscow looking up at the night sky. He would be wondering if there is life out there in the cosmos, and wondering what they are thinking.... Turns out that there was and it was thinking: oh!! That would make a pretty picture!
