Re: Submissions: 2020 December
Hi,
My submission:
WR 134 - V1769 Cyg
I had only few hours within 2 nights to image WR 134, Dec 3 & 4, 2020.
In the first night I had a window of around 1 hour before the moon rises, on the 2nd night I had only around 2 hours, then managed some Ha with moon light.
Not only that, the target was very low, I started imaging at altitude 45 degrees, the last sub was taken at altitude 6 degrees!
HOO + RGB stars, zero crop.
Tech card:
Imaging telescope: Explore Scientific 127mm ED TRIPLET APO.
Mount: iOptron CEM60.
Imaging cameras: ZWO ASI1600MM Pro-Cool.
Frames:
Chroma 3nm Ha: 10x600" (gain: 200.00) -20C bin 1x1.
Chroma 3nm OIII: 22x600" (gain: 200.00) -20C bin 1x1.
Total integration: 5.3 hours.
Avg. Moon age: 18.13 days.
Avg. Moon phase: 87.56%
Bortle Dark-Sky Scale: 4.00.
Temperature: 20.00.
Pixel scale: 1.159 arcsec/pixel.

Hi everybody,
I have been thinking for a long time about this photographic project which is not easy finally in November thanks to the high pressure on Italy I was able to photograph the Moon.
This work is the result of a composition of a considerable number of data collected on two different days.
The images of the ashy light (sunlight reflected from the Earth towards the Moon) were taken on November 18, 2020, while the luminance and relative color data at the First Quarter were obtained four days later (22-11-2020).
For the ashy light, 53 images were added (EOS 550D), for the First Quarter, the luminance is a mosaic of 11 panels (ASI290MM + R filter), while the RGB data are the result of the sum of 77 images with Canon 550D.
Due to the lunar libration, obviously the two resulting images were not perfectly superimposable.
To solve the mystery I experimented with De-rotation technique of the powerful WinJUPOS software, a function created for the planets of the Solar System, but it can also be used with some precautions for this type of processing.
See you soon. Clear skies

Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex | Deep Sky Astrophotography (tracked, stacked)
http://www.instagram.com/robin_onderka
This beautiful complex full of nebulae is located in the constellation Scorpio. In our country, it climbs quite low above the horizon, so it is more difficult to photograph it. It is part of the summer constellations (summer Milky Way) and is located near its center. It is one of the most photogenic areas ever, and if Orion is the jewel of the winter sky, Rho Ophiuchi dominates the summer one
A remake of the original data from this summer, processed in APP and Photoshop, photographed from Beskid Mountains, Czech Republic (Bortle 4)
Canon 6D astro-mod, Samyang 135 mm f / 2
22 x 60 "f / 2.5 ISO 1600 + 10 darks and calibration

This is a collaboration between Thomas Engl and myself.
We collected the data for this project in 2015 and 2016.
I also made some RGB pictures, but was not able to "fill" the deep luminance with it while keeping a natural touch to the picture.
Now, a few years and projects later, I gave it another try.
Thomas Engl:
184*333 sec
Stefan Muckenhuber:
L: 219*300 sec
RGB: 6*1200 sec and 21*300 sec each
Total exposure time: 46,5 h
Telescopes used:
Skywatcher Esprit 100
TS triplet apo 102 mm f/7 with 0,79 Photoline reducer

Processing in Pixinsight by Stefan Muckenhuber

It's all about the NGC 7538 region in the constellation Cepheus and follow these nice objects from the Sharpless catalog.
This region of active star formation is located about 9,100 light-years from Earth.
The picture is a result of more than 78 hours of integration time in narrow band and rgb channels.

This Rosette Nebula photo was shot between 11/23/20 ~12/08/20 (Moon phase 60% to 100% to 48%) from my driveway north of Tampa, FL under Bortle 5 sky.
Here are some technical details:
Mount: Rainbow Astro RST-135
Camera: Starlight Xpress SX-694 mono
Telescope: Takahashi FSQ-85EDX (450mm)
Mount control and image acquisition: The SkyX
Filters: Astrodon Ha 5nm, OIII 3nm and SII 3nm
Ha: 25X600 seconds
OIII: 12X600 seconds
SII: 16X600 seconds
Focusing: Refocused every hour using Focus Max V4. NiteCrawler WR30.
Processed in PixInsight, Used Starnet++ to create starless nebula for editing in Photoshop 2021 and then put stars extracted earlier back onto processed nebula.

I love this image. I love the fact that it looks like (mostly) RGB+Hα true color. Actually, this is what the authors of this photo wrote on their web page:SpookyAstro wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 5:56 pm Emerald Comet Visits Colorful Auriga by Transient Astronomer, on Flickr

I love seeing the green comet in this beautiful colorful setting. And I absolutely love that fact that the remarkable star IQ Aurigae, the bluest of all stars classified as an A-type star, really does look subtly bluer than anything else in this picture. IQ Aur is the bluest star near center of the image.Transient Astronomer wrote:
