Old Memories

Post by orin stepanek » Sun Jun 13, 2021 10:00 pm

Ed brought out some old memories; so I decided to start an old memory page! The wheelbarrow was part of my childhood fantasy! It was my spaceship back in the 1940's. I would sit in it and imagine. What a crazy kid I was! Now I'm a crazy old coot!
Anyway if you have an old memory you want to share === feel free!

Very cool Orin! 8-)

I didn’t have to use my imagination as much.

I owned a Jimmy Jet. I had the bottom bunk bed and draped a couple of sheets down off my brother’s top bunk. I set the Jimmy Jet at the head off my bunk and traveled the galaxy. I would exit my spaceship and meander about strange but beautiful planets. The sheets gave me a dark ship but the cockpit view screen lit up my imagination!

My first motorcycle experience was on Lloyd’s brand new 1967 red, white and blue Honda 350. I hopped on twisted the throttle and rode it straight across the Dairy Queen parking lot into the rear quarter panel of my black 1959 Ford. It put a hefty dent in my Ford and took the “new” right off Lloyd’s shiny new Honda.

I hope Lloyd was of a forgiving nature!
I never rode on a motor cycle: unless you count my son's mini motorcycle!

I did ride the neighbor's motorbike; and another neighbor's motor scooter though! The next door neighbor made the bike himself with a lawnmower motor and an old bike! The kid was a genius at mechanics at 13! His name was Lloyd also!
