Dark matter / energy
I just had a thought, I'm wondering if there is any correlation between the amount of dark matter / energy surrounding some galaxies and the sizes of the black holes in their centers namely could this unknown stuff be connected to the jets we've seen spewing from one back hole or another?

Re: just for fun; my opinion!
So many stars and so many galaxies, yep that is definitely on my list of top ten wonders of the universe.
Neutrino's are on that top ten list of mine also as I'm just blown away by the fact that one could pass through a light year of lead and not hit anything. Man that's just crazy to think about!

Re: Perseverance / Ingenuity
That's one sad fact there Chris, dam and where this thread of Orca's is concerned I think that its pretty darn reasonable to assume that if Perseverance should find fossil remains of any life forms we are all going to see a mad rush of robotic landers being sent there by every country that has the a...

Re: Perseverance / Ingenuity
Then of course there is the argument; or thought, that doing such things as going to moon and all gave children things to dream about in the future and indeed put the interest into some to become scientists and Etc. I can't rightly say one way or the other but if I had to guess I'd say these robots ...

That's a fact moreover I have yet to come up with an original quote that might be remembered after I've gone the way of all flesh but nonetheless I like that quote and this one is another one of my favorite's. I sure hope we go back soon I was 12 years old when Armstrong stepped out of the eagle and that was too long ago, we should have a permanent moon base by now I tell ya and I sure hope that we at least have one before I go the way of all flesh. Oops my bad :? but nonetheless I'd just love to see a pe...

Speaking of pets now, well I've been working on a book for just about two years now and it consists of the most outlandish, off the wall and borderline crazy ads that you can imagine; and some you can't imagine, nevertheless where the ads themselves may have some comedic value in and of themselves I...

Beautiful pictures Ann thank you. Seems to me that the names we have chosen to give to many of the wonders in the heavens lend little justice towards just how spectacular they really are but then again I suppose there will ever be any words capable nor worthy of what I feel inside looking upon each....

Re: Unwinding spiral galaxies
Bottom line, Sure looks to be the case can you run that (Gimp) program on infra red images to perhaps catch more stars in the process of forming and if this is the case (at least where this galaxy is concerned) why is there so much star formation going on on the outside of dust lanes tidal forces? I...

The problem with contact is that the life span of life life is short compared to a planets overall life and intelligent life is even shorter! So: contact would have to be made in this short period of time! JMHO! Orin  :b: :rocketship: I'm betting on eventual contact between our robot overl...

Re: Requesting input: what needs to be answered by a new theory of star-system formation?
Coming from a simple cabinet maker with virtually no schooling in any kind of or type of astrobiology type stuff I can only give you the most simplest explanation for planet formation but sometimes the simplest explanation turns out to be the correct one. After stars have formed if the left over mat...
