What do you think? Do you really think it might be possible to awaken Spitzer again?
If that happens, that would be too great.. I really love Spitzer's IR pictures.
Plans to un-retire Spitzer??

I wish they would un-retire GALEX, or launch another UV-sensitive space telescope. Chris once told me that there is already a UV-sensitive space telescope in orbit that looks at the Sun. How boring.
I want a UV-sensitive space telescope that looks at other galaxies!

We got 65 years to revive GALEX. But it seems NASA thinks it's not cost effective anymore, and I didn't find any other planned UV space telescope. I guess un-retiring GALEX would require less effort than Spitzer, given that Spitzer is orbiting the sun and GALEX is just on LEO orbit.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GALEX wrote:On 28 June 2013, NASA decommissioned GALEX. It is expected that the spacecraft will remain in orbit for at least 65 years before it will re-enter the atmosphere.
