Gorgeous image!
The Grand Canyon is an awesome place; and the star trails are pretty impressive too!
(And in the enlarged image, across on the North Rim, there are lights - maybe from the Grand Canyon Lodge located there..?)

Re: APOD: Saturns Hexagon and Rings (2013 Feb 20)
Very intriguing image! One question: why does the link in this sentence (from the description; emphasis added): If Saturn's South Pole wasn't strange enough with its rotating vortex , take the user to an APOD that features Saturn's North Pole? Or is the link just an extremely close up view of the he...

Re: APOD: Apollo 16: Diving on the Moon (2013 Jan 29)
Clicking DISCUSS took me to the wrong APOD. The Comet APOD from two days ago. This happened to me too. Can the link be fixed? And Beyond, there may have been two of them originally posted, but I can't even get one to play. Does the video link need to be fixed also? I'd like very much to view the vi...

Re: APOD: A Quadruple Lunar Halo Over Spain (2012 Dec 03)
Can someone please explain the difference between the '46* halo' and the 'infralateral arc'? In that image, they look like they are part of the same halo/arc.... :? The two are formed by different mechanisms. By all accounts, they can be difficult to distinguish from each other, and are easily conf...

Re: APOD: The Medusa Nebula (2012 Oct 25)
Nice image. 'Crescent shape' seems to be a bit of a stretch, though. I don't see it. :| But it is a beautiful image. ETA: I searched on 'Abell 21, Medusa Nebula', and came up with a few images that somewhat resembled a crescent - if I squinted my eyes, tilted my head and stood back from the monitor ...

I chose work because I feel like I'm there more, which is probably true. But I do view APOD from home on the days I'm not working.
But wherever I am, I have to have my APOD fix!

I'll take a stab at it:
I've circled the three stars in question - Shedar, Kochab and Altair - now here's hoping they are correct. I'm sure other forumites will be along to fix my bads, if needed!
Anyway, hope that helps!
p.s. Pretty APOD!

Re: APOD: A Solar Filament Erupts (2012 Sep 17)
This is indeed a fantastic APOD! To be honest, solar images don't really do that much for me. However, after watching this link - especially around the 40 second timeframe (I can't get over how HUGE that CME really is! ) - I can say I have a new appreciation for close-ups of the sun! Very ni...

Maybe eight or nine years ago, I followed a link to APOD from a forum that is (sadly) now defunct.
(APOD images have helped minimize the 'loss' of that site!)
I know it's been said before, but: keep up the great work!
