Awesome, I love bubble nebulas. I will try to take a picture when the smoke clears. Jupiter is less than half bright because of the smoke from forest fires.

Re: APOD: Great Orion Nebulae (2011 Sep 13)

Nice job, Jesús! A very pretty field, and you've controlled the very bright parts well, considering how deep you've gone around the edges. Personally, I like to see a hint of blue-green color right in the Trapezium area, but specific coloration isn't easy to nail down in astroimages. Boomer12k, kee...

Re: APOD: On the Origin of Gold (2011 Sep 11)

There is a good analogy, if you will, for the "greater than average abundance" . People think in small finite terms, and this is limiting in the first place. Take DIAMOND for example. The carbon came from Stars. And MOST diamond is from carbon around volcanoes in Kimberlite "fingers&q...

Re: APOD: Herschel Views the Milky Way (2011 Sep 02)

There are some interesting things in this picture, and about this picture. 1. It reminds me of the Structure of the Universe where and when you see galaxies clump, and the structure that implies. Strandy strings crisscrossing, etc... 2. Do you notice the "SQUARE" area to the right of cente...

Not mentioned is the column of smoke or something to the left of the rainbow. It looks like the spirit of a person facing to our left. The are leg, left arm, chest, shoulder, and neck and head, and the head has a helmet, all in profile. I am calling him, "The Guardian of the Rainbow", who ...
